Research On The Correlation Between International Co-authorship And Paper Quality In Medical Field Based On Structural Equation Modeling

International cooperation activities have substantially increased drived by the globalization of knowledge and economy, medicine is one of the most important subjects with close relationship to human life. Medical research pattern has changed with the development world science and technology, medical research tend to become more comprehensive, more open and more diversified, International cooperation has become an important means for the development and communication of medical science. International Co-authorship paper is one of the important outputs of the international cooperation activities in the field of scientific research. The number of international co-authored papers has showed a rapid growth in recent years. A large number of studies has shown that international co-authorship will affect the quality of the paper. There are significant differences between international and non-international co-authored papers. To clarify the mechanism that international co-authorship worked on paper quality. To find an effective way of international co-authorship.This study verified the correlation between international co-authorship and paper quality through structural equation modeling. Firstly, this paper reviews the basic theory of the paper quality and international co-authorship through literature research, we defines the concept of paper quality, and evaluate it through three aspects, which include the identification of experts,the recognition of readers and the authority of authors, research the F1000 score, the cited frequency and the h-index as the measurement index; Describe international co-authorship through three aspects of the state, institutions and the fund, which include the number of developed country, the number of hospital and the other 6 indicators.On the basis of the selected indicators,4 hypotheses are put forward through literature research, which the theoretical model put forward. H1:organization type will affect the paper quality in a positive significant way.H2:The number of country will affect the paper quality in a positive significant way. H3:national economic level will affect the paper quality in a positive significant way. H4:the number of funds will affect the paper quality in a positive significant way.In order to verify the rationality of the theoretical model, This study selects data from the cardiovascular field to make an empirical analysis. This study retrieved 767 records in the F1000 database and Web of science database. Based on the analysis of the data, found that there are significant differences in the field of international co-authorship and non-International Co-authored papers.203 international co-authors in this field were selected to analyze the influence of international co-authors on the paper quality.Statistical data from 203 International Co-authored papers in the field of Cardiology in 2013, using structural equation model to study the rationality of theoretical model. Firstly, we found that both of the co-author activity will affect the paper quality except the number of country. Secondly, Organization type, the level of national economic development, the fund will have a significant positive impact on the quality of the paper. Under normal circumstances, the higher the degree of participation of hospitals, universities and Research Institute, the higher the quality of the paper. International Co-authorship papers, the more developed countries, the higher the quality of Co-authored papers; the higher the number of funds, the higher the probability of producing high quality papers. Thirdly, The impact of the above three indicators on the quality of the paper needs to be played in a certain range. Fourth, there is a significant difference in the quality of the co-authored papers between the inter agency and the non-Cross organization, and the quality of the cross organization co-authored papers was significantly higher than that of the non-Cross organization co-authored papers.
