With the rapid development of the digital signal processing technique, new processing techniques and fast algorithms are emerging, and the requirement of the processing speed and the programmability of signal processors is higher and higher. At the same time, because of the disadvantages of traditional buses, the performance of the whole system is restricted. It can’t meet the requirements of high-speed data transmission.The FPGA appeared in the 1980 s, because of its powerful signal processing ability and strong programmability, it has become the mainstream in the new generation of the digital signal processor. Also, the PCIe bus has replaced the ISA、PCI and other traditional buses. The PCIe bus transmits data serially by point-to-point interconnection, it has greatly improved the bus transmission bandwidth. The PCIe bus is suitable for high-speed data transmission. In this paper, a general signal processing module based on PCIe interface is proposed. It has the ability of real-time signal processing and high-speed data transmission. It also has certain commonality and good expansibility.Firstly, the frame of the signal processing system is analysed in this paper. Combined with the development of the digital signal processor and IO buses, a general signal processing system based on PCIe interface is proposed. Secondly, based on the analysis of the actual application situation, a scheme based on carrier card + mezzanine card is proposed. Then the hardware design of the carrier card is described in detail, and a brief introduction of the mezzanine card is made. Thirdly, the software design of the data caching module and the PCIe module is described in detail, and the test outcome is analysed. Finally, the content and innovation in this paper is summarized with some recommended future improvements.
