The FDI Technology Spillover To The Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone Construction Significance

Shandong peninsula, China’s largest peninsula, is on the verge of Bohai and theYellow sea. It faces Korea peninsula as well as Japanese islands across the sea on theeast, links the lower and middle reaches of Yellow River on the west, meets theYangtze river triangle area on the south, and connects Beijing, Tianjin and Hebeimetropolis circle on the north. Its superior geographical condition, rich marineresources as well as its good marine ecological environment will speed up theeconomic development of the Marine economy on the basis of its huge potential.21century witnesses the exploration of sea. During this century many countries paymore attention to the marine resources all over the world. The marine economy playsan important role in the economic development of a country or region. In the processof FBI introduction, the improvement of of absorptive capability of technologicalspillovers has great significance to the economic development and technologicalprogress of Shandong. Shandong is not only the strong economic province in ourcountry but also the important province of absorbtion of foreign direct investment.Furhtermore, the faster growth speed of the actual investment of foreign capital,which also embodies the macro-economic environment of Shandong at that time.The great inflows of foreign direct investment from foreigh countries promote theeconomic development of shandong province and the adjustment and upgrade ofindustrial structure. With China’s accession to the WTO and the faster speed of theinternational industrial transfer, the width and depth of being open to foreigncountries will be further expanded. a lot of scholars have studied the influence offoreign direct investment on the technological capability of the region in our country.However, others hold different opinions on whether foreign direct investment willcause technology spillover to the Chinese enterprise. This thesis mainly explains thebasic situation of the foreign direct investment of blue sea economic zone ofshandong peninsula, pays attention to the effect of foreign direct investment to the size of the local technology spillover, and give proper suggestions to the introductionof foreign direct investment and the local technology progress.
