The Development Of Spiritual Tourism In Vietnam

In term of Vietnamese spiritual tourism, there is a variety of tourism resoures and alarge tourist market which is annually widened. Besides, it has been lately paidattention by government agencies. It has become one of key sectors obtaining a focuson development. However, academic fields in Vietnam has nearly lacked theoreticaland applied research studies which are not directional in lots of aspects such asplanning, development, use and operation, etc. in the spiritual tourism. That leads to anegative effect on images–trade marks and economic efficiency for the survival oftourism resources in the process of development. Such an effect occurs annually andhas not been appropriately solved. It is essential to study theories, strategies and plans,etc. in accordance with the actual situation of Vietnamese spiritual tourism industry sothat negative phenomena can be eliminated to create a positive image and to promoteextensive development together with quality of Vietnamese spiritual tourism. Underthese circumstances, the current research was conducted to investigate the topic "Thedevelopment of spiritual tourism in Vietnam. The research was employed CorrelationAnalysis, Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test, Analytic Hierarchy Process, SWOT Analysis v.v,there was a combination with a number of documents and theories on relevantspiritual tourism, an analysis of characteristics of spiritual tourism resources inVietnam, and partition (i.e. northern, central and southern regions) in order to evaluateand understand comprehensive strengths and weakness of spiritual tourism resourcesof each region. Moreover, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats and drawbackswere examined in the process of development of Vietnamese spiritual tourism so as tounderstand obstacles towards truthful development of Vietnamese spiritual tourism.Based on the analysis, developing policies and project development of Vietnamesespiritual tourism could be hypothesized. Hence, systematic, scientific andcomprehensive theories were formed, considered as reference for practical operationand management activities, and appropriate to the actual situation of the country interm of Vietnamese spiritual tourism.
