An Research On Intra-industry Technology Spillover Effect Of Regional Industrial Transfer In Gansu Province

With the research on technology spillover effect constantly deepening, industrytransfer, as the key link of capital and technology exchange among different regions,is universally concerned by the theoretical circle, of which especially technologyspillover effect is considered as a dose of good medicine to drive the economicdevelopment of less developed regions. Since the opening and reform, The easternprovinces in China have been constantly taking over industry transfer mainly aboutlabor-intensive industries from oversea developed countries, and those provinces alsohave quickly improved their own research and development as well as managementlevels through technology spillover effect of industry transfer, and the economicdevelopment in those regions has made great progress. Unfortunately, good times didnot last long. With the labor cost constantly going high, foreign capitals fled one afteranother. The phenomenon of industrial “amplification” in those eastern developedprovinces becomes increasingly serious, and the requirement for transformation ispressing. In contrast, the vast western regions in China are trapped in a dilemma abouteconomic development, and the gap between the west and the east is expanded yearby year, although there are abundant resources in the western regions. How to utilizetechnology spillover effect of interregional industry transfer to realize a high speedeconomic development in the western less developed provinces becomes undoubtedlya key link to construct “harmonious society” and realize regional balanceddevelopment.In such a background, this paper chooses related data of16industries dated from2006-2011of Gansu Province one of China’s western provinces as samples,andcarries our research on the technology spillover effect during the process of GansuProvince’s intra-industry taking over other provinces’ interregional industry transfer,combining with various theories and empirical methods, and it also puts forwardrelated policy recommendations according to the findings.This paper is arranged as follows in structure:Chapter One: Introduction. This chapter explains the background and meaning ofthis topic, and meanwhile, describes the framework of this paper as well as itspossible innovation. Chapter Two: Comments on Related Theoretical Literatures of Intra-industryTechnology Spillover Effect of Transfer Taking-over Regions. This Chapter firstlymakes definitions on some related concepts, then makes a review on the literaturesabout the technology spillover effect of the industry transfer from both internationaland domestic perspectives, respectively, and makes a summary on the existingresearch achievements from the perspective of theory.Chapter Three: Empirical Research on Inner-industry Technology SpilloverEffect of Gansu Province Taking-over Industry Transfer. This chapter makes acomparative research on intra-industry technology spillover effect by using traditionalpanel model and space measuring model, at the same time, this chapter gives arelevant explanation and analysis combining with empirical results.Chapter Four: A Joint Research on the Influence Intra-industry TechnologySpillover Effect of Gansu Taking-over Industry Transfer Causes on Industry GrowthMode. This chapter not only starts from the perspective of intra-industry, but alsocombines inter-industry technology spillover effect to make a joint research onindustry economic development modes, attempting to find out the contributions madeby industry technology spillover effect to the change of economic growth modes fromextensive mode to intensive mode in western regions of China.Chapter Five: Research on Influential Factors of Intra-industry TechnologySpillover Effect of Gansu Province Taking Over Industry transfer. By building aquantile regression model, this chapter makes an in-depth analysis on all sorts offactors that may influence intra-industry technology effect, and makes some feasiblepolicy recommendations combining with empirical results.Chapter Six: Research Conclusions, Policy Recommendations, and Predictions.This chapter makes a conclusion on the whole paper, summarizes policyrecommendations, and makes constructive predictions for the researches in relatedfields of the future.
