Since Hamel and Prahalad firstly proposed the concept of core competence in1990, ithas become a hot spot of academic and business study in Europe and the United States.More and more people realize that the core competence is the source for enterprise to obtainsustainable competitive advantage. In the late1990s, since the theory of core competence wasintroduced to China, it has raised the research upsurge of core competitiveness in Chinesetheory and business community. Entering the21st century, the consumer electronics industry,which is increasingly booming and penetrates into a wide range of areas, is closely related topeople’s lives. Its contribution to the development of national economy is more and moreprominent and it is becoming the important aspect of a country to participate in internationalcompetition. Therefore, it is of strategic significance to cultivate and enhance the corecompetence of consumer electronics of manufacturing enterprise, which will greatly benefitthe healthy development of the industry, improve the life quality of people and promote thecomprehensive national strength of our country.This paper will flexibly apply the rich research achievements at home and abroad toChina’s consumer electronics of manufacturing enterprises. Through the study of presentdevelopment situation of the consumer electronics industry and consumer electronicsenterprises in our country, we summarize, extract the elements of core competence ofconsumer electronics enterprises and establish the system of it. Using the system, it willanalyze the current situation of core competence of China’s consumer electronics enterprises.Using the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, it will evaluate the core competence oftwo major consumer electronics enterprises: Apple and Lenovo. After analysis, it will beconcluded that there is a gap in all aspects of the core competence between China’s consumerelectronics enterprises and the international leading ones. On this basis, this article, from theperspective of government, enterprises and enterprise cooperation, will put forward the ways to cultivate and enhance the core competence of consumer electronics enterprises. We hope itwill have certain significance and offer some guidance and references for the development ofconsumer electronics enterprises in China.
