The insurance company is to sell insurance contracts to provide risk protectioncompany which is one of the three pillar industries of financial services and has run fornational macroeconomic significance. With the increasing economic development andpeople’s security awareness, the insurance industry’s spring is also coming. However,the insurance industry is still in a " wolf little more meat " stage, the competition isbecoming increasingly fierce among insurance companies. In order to achieve greatermarket share,various insurance companies continue to reduce underwriting fees andincrease marketing costs, which are resulting in a significant reduction in underwritingprofit. Therefore, relying solely on the premium income realized earnings are not thelong term, how to provide more revenue for the company using the growing insurancefund balance to achieve effective is more important. At present, the use of channels ofChina’s insurance investment funds focused on bank deposits, loans, investment funds,stocks, real estate funds and other forms permitted by the State Council. Butinvestment income is not only mature and there is a big gap between the internationalmarket more substantial volatility, therefore, to explore how to achieve themaximization of return on investment of insurance funds seems more significant.This article is based on this background and in-depth research step by step. Fromthe context of insurance investments, meaning and existing literature departure,followed by elaborate on the theoretical basis of insurance funds. And then used forData Envelopment Analysis (ie DEA) made a brief introduction. Finally, using the realdata of a company’s investment to investment proportion of insurance funds and putforward some opinions on the investment of insurance funds.
