Along with the thorough development of the reform and opening policy,competition between companies becomes increasingly fierce which in essence is awar for talents. Therefore, what faces each company are the task how to enhance teamcohesiveness, how to activate staff’s passion for work and maximally release itspotential power. Performance assessment, as one of the key elements in humanresource management, is an important managerial tool that helps drive the staff to takeactiveness, to improve the value of human resource, and to achieve the overallstrategic objectives of a company. This requires a company to establish an integratedand scientific performance assessment system which is internally adapted, and toplant it into the company’s culture.After a systematic study of eastern and western management theories and athorough analysis of W’s present situation, this essay finalizes problems existing inthis company’s current performance assessment system. Starting from the currentdevelopment of W, it diagnoses aspects like the working environment, employeevalue orientation, leadership style through questionnaires and interviews. In addition,the literature review and case studies combined methodology is adopted. Aftermassive reading from journals, magazines and books, relevant theories are comparedand summarized and a basic model for the performance assessment of W is putforward and analyzed with practical cases. Finally, the performance statement plan forW has been redesigned and optimized in every aspect. The exploratory way to reformW’s performance statement system turns out to be effective to some extent.
