Development status of urban system has a very strong influence on economic,social, resources and other property that included in it, and its possible futuredevelopments is more important for the development of the current policy. Citiesaround Poyang Lake area has developed rapidly in recent years, and presents someallometric growth relationships.Competition and cooperation of each county area onthe formation of this situation has played a significant role, this article can helpunderstand the Poyang Lake region growth driving mechanism. And through thesimulation can predict prospective on the future of the city development pattern inPoyang Lake area, it also can help formulate policy and planning. The mainresearch work in this paper is to study the allometric growth of cities around PoyangLake area,and try to explain the law of allometric growth from the perspective ofcompetition and cooperation, then Carries on the scene simulation forecast in thisfoundation.Through the analysis of allometric growth of cities around the Poyang Lake areaduring2000-2010, the economy is always positive allometric growth of population.Study on the allometric growth between population growth and the life urbanizationdevelopment level, found people in the process of urbanization actually enjoy poorshare on medical security resource. Similar phenomena acted on the educationresource, compared with huge invest in construction the invest in education is toosmall. And expansion in population and spatial allometric growth analysis points out,the built-up area processed from suitable existing population living, graduallyunsatisfying the demand for space resources, and finally to remission thecontradiction.Then, using the Dendrinos-Sonis model to analysis the population, economy,space and water resources, the result shows that the relationship between citiesaround Poyang Lake area on non-agricultural population resource is the coexistenceof competition and cooperation; the cities in the economic competition for resourcesis extremely uneven; and because of the local government has desire to use their land to create economy, showing no competition complementary relationship onbuilt-up land among the cities, the whole Poyang Lake district is imbalance in theallocation of land resources, the speed of development between cities on landresources relatively different.Finally, by setting the nature, the first type and grade type three allometric growthsituation, do scenario simulation of city pattern around Poyang Lake area in2010-2020years.In this paper, taking Poyang Lake district as the research object, try to study thecompetition and cooperation mechanism from fractal in a single system andallometric growth between systems. Basis the research carry on the scenariosimulation in different situations to cities around Poyang Lake area.
