With the adjustment of the industrial structure in rural area and the migration ofthe rural labor force, rural women have become the main labor force in rural area inChina. However, rural women are the poorest class in rural population from manyperspectives, thus hampering the development of agriculture and rural area in China.Recently, with the success of the microfinance mode of Grameen Bank in Bengal andthe popularization of successful experience in microfinance in developing countries,microfinance has made substantial progress in China and brought hope for ruralwomen to get rid of poverty.In this paper, microfinance for women in Gansu is used as an example. Throughempirical analysis and normative analysis, this paper expounds the development ofmicrofinance for rural women and its impact on rural women getting rid of poverty inGansu, it also finds the problems and corresponding countermeasures in thedevelopment of microfinance for women in Gansu. Specifically, this paper is dividedinto four parts. Based on the theory of microfinance, the first part analyzes the relationbetween microfinance and poor women. The second part introduces the modes ofinternational microfinance for rural women and summarizes the successful experienceof international microfinance for rural women. Based on the first two parts, the thirdpart identifies the main problems in the development of microfinance for rural womenin Gansu through the analysis of the development of microfinance for rural women inGansu and the empirical research of its impact on the income of their families. Finally,this paper proposes corresponding countermeasures aimed at solving these problemsin the development of microfinance for rural women in Gansu in order to make itdevelop in a better and faster way.
