With the adjustment of the global economic structure and the optimization of the industrial structure, financial service trade has attracted growing attention for the entire world. As an important constant of the service trade, one factor of the financial service trade about competitiveness has become an important symbol of measuring a country’s competitiveness. In recent years, financial services trade has developed rapidly in China and India, and the total import and export annual growth rate is89.01%and118.24%respectively, according to the WTO official data from2013to2012. China and India, both as major developing countries and the BRIC countries, have many similarities in areas such as environmental conditions, economic development level and demographic conditions. So I think that finding out the main factors which affect the financial services trading competitiveness of the China and India, through comparing and researching the two countries’competitiveness, is significant for China to improve the financial services trading competitiveness.This paper makes a comparative study about the financial services trading competitiveness of the China and India from the following aspects. First, it introduces the background and significance of studying the financial services of China and India. Furthermore, the paper compares the financial services trade Index between China, India. At the same time, it identifies competitive position of China and India in the international market. Then, we analyze the factors which affect the financial services trade development of these two countries. Finally, according to insufficient development of financial services trade in China and the successful development experience in India and the developed countries, we make some recommendations for China to enhance the competitiveness of financial services trade.
