April15,2005, China’s first video sharing site-Tudou established. Video sharing sites fromthe nine years since its inception, the gradual development of the industry norm, under greatpressure after several shuffling operating costs, showing a relatively stable oligopoly trend.After nine years of rapid development, video sharing sites gathered a large number of users,as of December2013, China’s online video users reached428million. However, the currentindustry profit model is too dependent on advertising revenue, profitability single channel,under the double weight of bandwidth and content costs, difficult operating each site, and cannot and does not truly profitable.This paper introduces the concept of video-related sites, from the user scale, marketconditions, competition and other aspects of the analysis of the development of video-sharingwebsites; then introduced from the positioning, core resources, business systems, coststructure, profit model, etc. the video sharing site ’s business model, combined with theclassical model of game theory-depth analysis; followed by the development of the plight ofvideo sharing sites were summarized and proposed countermeasures; finally proposed threenew business model: Internet TV, and more screen terminal marketing, video shopping.
