Ghana is a developing country which is dominated by low value agriculture (cocoa) andmineral extraction (gold). The economy is very narrow and prone to external shocks from sharpand dramatic changes in the price and hence in the demand for these commodities. The need todiversify the economy largely on the basis of significant inflows of FDI is obvious. Thedevelopment of economic activities and the rise of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Ghanarecently have prompted a thorough research on FDI and non-traditional businesses in Ghana. The main purpose of this research is to investigate and discuss the contributions of FDI inflowsto the development of non agricultural business in Ghana. The research also seeks to examinethe relationship between FDI and economic growth as well as business development.
