| Nowadays, Chinese consumer demand of energy increases noticeably, and dependency of energy on import ascends higher and higher. Chinese government and the related enterprises have realized that the safety of energy supply is of great importance to economy sustainable development. However, Chinese energy and resources reserves are limited, and self-reliance can not assure energy security. Therefore, overseas expansion of Chinese energy mining enterprises is an inevitable choice. Chinese leading energy enterprises, such as CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, have almost20years practice of oversea expansion, in which have both Successful experiences and frustrated lessons. So research on the strategy and risk of overseas expansion has a very strong realistic meaning in energy mining enterprises.This paper has7chapters. The first chapter mainly discussed the background and meaning of studying overseas expansion strategy and risk of energy mining enterprises. The second chapter introduced the theory and designmethod of enterprise strategy, foreign direct investment and risk analysis. The third chapter analyzed the necessity, present state and problems of overseas expansion ofenergy mining enterprises. The fourth chapter introduced the experience of Royal Dutch Shell and Exxon Mobil in overseas expansionand Its Implication for Chinese energy mining enterprises. The fifth chapter quantitatively analyzed the overseas expansion strategy of energy mining enterprisesby using an analysis tool of SWOT, and discussed overseas expansion strategy of Chinese energy mining enterprises based on the comparative study of the first chapter. The sixth chapter quantitatively analyzed the main problems of energy mining enterprises by using AHP method to determine the weight coincidence coefficient of main problems, and then calculated the risk coefficient of the main countries for’ Chinese energy mining enterprises by using FCE method. We concluded that it is important and significant for Chinese energy mining enterprises to conduct overseas expansion planning strategically,andChinese energy mining enterprises which expand oversea should concentrate on building the risk assessment system in the near future. |
