In China’s power structure, thermal power absolutely occupied advantage position and made an important support for the rapid, sustainalbe and healthy development of China’s economy. There is a large distant between power-coal producing areas and power-coal consuming areas, so long-distance power-coal transportation is important for the development of electric power enterprises. To reduce the cost and improve the efficiency of power-coal multi-transportation, this paper did deeply research on route optimization and load-unload-process optimization of power-coal multi-transportation.Firstly, results of related research on multi-transportation of general goods were introduced to show the sequence of research on cost optimization of multi-transportation. Then, combined with the characteristics of coal transportation the paper analyzed current situation and problems of power-coal multi-transportation, and emphasized the necessity of doing research on cost optimization of power-coal multi-transportation. Route optimization and load-unload-process optimization were the basis of power-coal multi-transportation, so the paper deeply researched on the two problems and built power-coal multi-transportation route optimization modal and power-coal multi-transportation hub-load-unload-process optimization modal. Then tabu search algorithm was introduced to solved the two modals. Finally the paper proved the effectiveness of the two modals by the numerical example of KM power plant of HD power generation group. The results also demonstrated that the two modals had the ability to cut the cost of power-coal multi-transportation.
