Economic And Trade Relations Between Guangxi And Hong Kong

Due to the similar geopolitical association, there have been economic and trade exchanges between Guangxi and Hong Kong since long time before. But because of various reasons, such as the level of economic development gap, the advantage of Guangxi resources are not taken fully advantage of Guangxi and H.K. still keep a relatively normal economic and trade relations. At present, with the development of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, Guangxi is not only facing new development opportunities, but also meeting the new mission. Therefore, we need to seek new economic growth point in Guangxi as economic growth momentum constantly. As the most economically developed area in China, Hong Kong has a deep relationship with Guangxi. Compared to the promotion for Guangdong economy of Hong Kong, the economic development of Guangxi is insufficient. Further researches on the economic and trade ties with Hong Kong to Guangxi find the breakthrough point to promote the development of bilateral economic and trade relations is of great significance.Being the implementation of "one country, two systems" policy, institutional differences make economic and trade relations between Hong Kong and Guangxi different from domestic trade, so this paper starts from international trade theory, and uses regional economic development theory and the use of the comprehensive advantages theory as the theoretical basisment. By analyzing the status of economic and trade relations between Guangxi and Hong Kong, we get that trade development between Hong Kong and Guangxi is based on the regional economic differences and the division of labor, and it tends to develop the characteristics of export-oriented economy and the one-way flow of production factors. With SWOT analysis, we deeply analyze the impact of internal and external environment to economic and trade relations between Guangxi and Hong Kong. Finally, according to the actual situation,and make the comprehensive advantages of the theory as a basisment, this paper has put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.First of all, Guangxi should actively undertake industrial transfer of processing trade.As Guangxi’s technology industry, processing trade has obvious advantages in undertaking industrial transfer. Second, in order to achieve local leaps and bounds, it would be better to emphasize on the development of strategic emerging industries.Then, to optimize trade structure, and promote the development of trade in services, and promote diversification. Finally, we can achieve common development by using the hardware and software environment optimize and other measures to improve transaction efficiency.
