Food safety supervision of production links at basic levels is an important part of food safety supervision. As a result, to perfect it will help improve the level and efficiency of food supervision, enhance the government’s executive ability and credibility, and raise people’s satisfaction with food safety. The complexity of food safety regulation results in the complexity of food production safety supervision and the difficulty of manipulation at basic levels. Therefore, it is of great importance to conduct a comprehensive study on the main factors influencing China’s current food production safety supervision, and to construct a set of practical and relevant supervision system.This paper briefly introduces the present situation of food safety supervision at home and abroad, and thus providing a theory and reference for making an analysis on the advantages and disadvantages of the food production safety supervision in Zhangye, Gansu province.This paper is divided into the following parts:In the first part, an analysis of the present situation of food production safety supervision in Zhangye is made in the following aspects:the evolution and mode of food regulatory system and variety management, the characteristics of supervision system and the operation of food inspection. The second part focuses on a study on the problems of food safety supervision by analyzing its main force, techniques and the flow, the credibility of the departments and the supporting role of inspection organizations in Zhangye.The third part has made a deep analysis of the reasons for the existing problems in the supervision system reform, the mode, the trust construction and the inspection institution reform. The fourth part puts forward some effective suggestions and countermeasures of optimizing system mechanism, innovating supervision thinking and promoting instrument examination reform at the basic levels.
