Government Behavior In The Border Tourism Industry In Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

Since the1990s, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region’s tourism industry has developing very fast, following the upward of domestic tourism, cross-border tourism and border tourism. Border tourism plays an important role in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region’s tourism industry. After years of expansion, Xinjiang’s border tourism has made a considerable progress and the scale of operation covers the entire region. The region is famous for its rich tourism resources and its geographical advantages, distinctive cultures and diverse ethnicities. All of these features provide this region with favorable conditions for border tourism development. In recent years, high capital inflow from the border tourism sector has become a significant source of financing for several Xinjiang port towns. In spite of the vast growth, Xinjiang border tourism industry is facing many problems and challenges under the new socio-economic situation.This paper first proposed the background, purpose and significance of this study, which clarify the importance of border tourism in Xinjiang. The article uses the literature analysis, and combining normative and empirical methods, proposed related concepts and theoretical basis, which made an overview of Xinjiang’s border tourism. Then use city A as an example, the questionnaires and interviews were used to investigate problems in given city. After analysis, certain conclusions were made. At last learn the experience from other regions, and then give some specific advices form perspective of government, and emphasis on regional cooperation.
