In recent years, China’s food safety crisis frequently hit the newspapers,toxic and dangerous agricultural products arouse a particular reaction and great concern inpeople with respect to food quality and safety problems, which hurts the consumers’consumption confidence of healthy food greatly. In this context, one new form ofagricultural production and management-Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) whichcan build a bridge of trust between consumers and producers quietly appeared in somecities, which is trying to use a new form of production to provide truly safe and secureagricultural products for consumers. However, CSA model in China is still in its infancy,large-scale extension still needs some time. Therefore, investigating and analyzing thewillingness of consumers to participate in CSA is conducive to the extension of CSA in aright time in China.Based on the consumers’ perspective, this dissertation aims at analyzing theinfluencing factors in the extension of CSA model in our county by means of statisticalanalysis of the results of370questionnaires including consumers’ personal characteristics.By Logit model, this dissertation positively analyzes the influence of potential consumers’gender, age, vocation, educational background, family income, Awareness of food safety,the sensitivity of prices of agricultural products provided by CSA farm and prospects fordevelopment in China on the potential consumers’ willingness to participate in CSA. Theconclusions are as follows: potential consumers’ personal characteristics influence thepotential consumers’ willingness to participate in CSA from different point of view;consumers’ willingness to participate in CSA mode is significantly influenced by familymembers, per capita household income, consumers’awareness of food safety and prospectsfor development. Based on the above research findings, this dissertation puts forwardrelevant suggestions, including fully mobilizing all resources to play versatility of CSA;strengthening efforts to publicize and promote typically successful cases; drawing upsound supportive policies for CSA model extension; strictly controlling product quality ofCSA farm; exploring some innovative services of CSA model; establishing CSA modelextension demonstration sites.
