The Research Of Adaptive Ability Of Private Economy

Since the reform and opening-up,the remarkable development and growth ofChina’s private economy is witnessed by all of us.There are also many researchesrelated to the development of private economy in the academic circles. But most ofthem were focus on the constraints of the development of private economy and thecountermeasures to these constraints. However, the factors restrict the development ofour private economy are not limited to those restricts such as industry admittancerestrictions, financing difficulties and the lagged management modes. Moreover,tighter resource constraints, profound economic reforms and frequent “moneyshortage” in recent period as well as American subprime mortgage crisis andEuropean debt crisis can also impact influences on the development of our privateeconomy.Complex adaptive system（CAS) theory provides us a new path to the research ofthe development of private economy. This paper points out that private economy oftenshow the characteristics of complex adaptive system, such as initiative andadaptability, etc.According to the complex adaptive system theory, this paper definesthe private economy as a complex adaptive system with certain adaptive ability to theoutside world,and think we can regard the develop of private economy as a process ofadaptation of environment.This paper attempts to find out the main factors thatdetermine the adaptive ability of private economy system to provide a newperspective for the research related to the development of private economy.First,this paper summarizes the theories related to private economy and complexadaptive system separately through literature review to lay the theoretical foundationfor researching private economy issues that applying the theory of complex adaptivesystem.Second,this article defines private economy as a complex adaptive systemaccording to the complex adaptive system theory,and illustrates all the complexadaptive system characteristics of the private economy system.Third,this article elaborates the concept of adaptive ability of private economysystem. And divides the adaptive ability of private economy system into twocategories: resource acquisition and utilization ability and knowledge innovation andapplication ability. Then set up the measurement model of adaptive ability of privateeconomy system.Forth,this paper conducts an empirical study concerning to the Suzhou,Wuxi andChangzhou, and carry out measurements and calculations for the adaptive ability ofprivate economy system in Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou in the recent five years toanalyze the characteristics of the private economy development in those cities.Moreover, the scientificalness of the model of adaptive ability is preliminarilydemonstrated through the longitudinal comparison,transverse comparison,regression analysis and correlation analysis.Finally,this article summarized some experience and inspiration concerningimproving the adaptive ability of private economy system,and gives somecountermeasures and advices for improving the adaptive ability of private economyfrom the two aspects as improving the resource acquisition and application ability andknowledge innovation and application ability.
