The Value Of Life:Research On Doctor-patient Relationship Under Market Economy Condition

"Life is priceless" seems to be a truism, regardless of how much money othersto give you, you’re unwilling to give up the life of your or someone you love.However, under the condition of market economy, in some sense, doctor-patientrelationship is reflecting the exchange of life and money,wich makes the medicalethics challenging. In addition to individual events show the disregard of life,doctor-patient contradiction and conflicts have often occurred.This paper, based on carding the current research of doctor-patientrelationship in academic circles, by using the method of multidisciplinary researchin economic anthropology, ethnology, anthropology. Through the questionnaire,participant observation and interviews, enter the doctor-patient’s work, life andmedical activities in minority areas, understanding the nature and characteristicsof doctor-patient relationship,and its present situation under market economycondition.Then, analysis the reasons of causing the doctor-patient contradictionand conflict and think of remodeling harmonious doctor-patient relationship undermarket economy condition.The author thinks that, to counter the human disease through the power ofmarket, and to adjust the balance between disease and human values in marketeconomy,the value of life will have to discount. To make the value of life nodiscount, the government must improve the system of health care, strengthen theconstruction of cultural interaction，remodel trust between doctors and patients,andstrengthen the society concerns for human life and humanity, then realizeregression of the humanistic spirit of medicine.
