From the supplier management perspective, this thesis points outafter a thorough development of PC industry, and under EMS&ODMenvironment, competition among PC companies is more intense thanbefore. The nature of the completion is no longer between companies butrather between supply chains. Efficiency and quality supplier selectionhas gradually become one of the core content of the project procurement.This thesis points out that most of the existing literature focuses on the1st tier supplier management. However, a typical supply chain in PCindustry has evolved into a complex network structure. To meet therequirements of the existing competition in the industry, PCmanufacturers must be able to manage tier-2suppliers even lower tiersuppliers well.Although many OEMs in PC industry have already established astrict supplier certification process, they don’t have a systemiccertificated supplier management process. The lack of an efficient tier-2supplier performance assessment system and complete supplier dynamic management process has become the root cause of many managementproblems. In this thesis, it proposed to use tier-1supplier managementexperience into the tier-2supplier management. The tier-1supplierassessment system and dynamic management process could be used intotier-2supplier management in some situations. Through the study ofexisting mainstream supplier evaluation processes or approaches, wepropose an integrated process of integrated application of AHP andentropy method to establish tier-2supplier assessment system. And basedon the result of tier-2supplier assessment, PC brand could establishsupplier dynamic classification and improve current tier-2suppliermanagement, add the elimination process, to complete supplier dynamicmanagement.The supplier evaluation and dynamic management process wasimplemented in M company. The application of this process helps Mcompany establish an effective tier-2supplier assessment and dynamicmanagement. Prove the applicability and effectiveness of supplierevaluation and dynamic management system. Finally, the strengths andlimitations of the proposed process are discussed. We also identify severaldirections for future research.
