Research On The Functions Of The Cultural Soft Power Of Science And Technology From The Perspective Of Historical Materialism

As a new object of study,the cultural soft power of science and technology whichhas great theoretical and practical significance,is the inevitable requirement ofimproving the national cultural soft power and the specific ways of implementation.However,the current research in this field is inconsistent with its significance.Thecurrent research of cultural soft power of science and technology in China has twomajor problems of legitimacy and innovation.The so-called legitimacy problem refersto the logic rationality in researching of the cultural soft power of science andtechnology,which makes the research in this field is lack of emphasis.And theinnovation problem refers to the existing study of cultural soft power of science andtechnology almost results from the study of science and technology culture,which islack of theoretical breakthrough.The two big problems fully explain why the researchof cultural soft power of science and technology is in such an awkward position,butalso provide a huge space for further research.Study on the function of the culturalsoft power of science and technology in the vision of the structure theory and thesocial organism theory of the historical materialism,can also solve the above two bigproblems.On the comprehensive comparison of historical materialism structure theory andsocial organism theory,the two can be found as a methodology although cleardifferences in content,but complement each other in the application.Structure theoryemphasizes the decisive rules,this is the “source” contradiction with social organismtheory which proceed from the reality people.Structure theory is to solve thesynchronic problem,this is the “flow” contradiction with social organism theorywhich emphasizes the diachronic problem.The “source” contradiction which reflectsthe starting point is different,but the “flow” contradiction shows that pointdeviation,”source” should be unified and “flow” could be coexistence.In short,peoplein the rules of structure,and can stand out of it.In this premise,structure theory andsocial organism theory respectively corresponding to different level of the function ofthe cultural soft power of science and technology.With the guide of the method of historical materialism structure theory and social organism theory,the following conclusions can be drawn:The cultural soft power of science and technology mainly has the maintain andintegral function.The maintain function refers to the view on its own point whichrealizes the unity of the maintain function of science and technology culture,softpower and cultural soft power.That is,the pursuit of the meaning of humanities ofscience and technology,the noncoercive means of international competition andinclusive and harmonious route of national development.The integral function refersto the superstructure and basic function,the superstructure function includes thepolitical superstructure function and the ideology function,and the basic function isshown as the primacy in the relationship with the other elements of the function ofcultural soft power of science and technology.And the two relatively independentfunctions are good for the development of human and society.Therefore,research on the function of cultural soft power of science andtechnology with the historical materialism theory is a visible and optimal path tosolve the legitimacy and innovation problems in the research of the cultural softpower of science and technology.Because the comprehensive comparison of thehistorical materialism sturctue theory and social organism theory realizes the methodinnovation,and thus to guide to the study of the cultural soft power of science andtechnology to realize the content innovation.And the answer that tells what arefunctions of the cultural soft power of science and technology provides its value ofexistence.
