Along with the deepening of China financial reformation and the gradualopening up of the financial markets, the bank card business is rapidly developing,receiving approach and service environment of the electronic payment services arealso gradually improving. As the most frequently used non-cash payment method fordomestic Chinese, the proportion of bank cards payment in total retail sales ofconsumer goods keeps annually increasing. In this case, this business’ developmentplays an important role for promoting consumption, reducing cash circulation andtransaction costs, anti-money-laundering strengthening, tax base expanding andnational dignity enhancing.Compared with the card issuing side, market of receiving side’s development islagging behind and facing the multi-pressures of business expansionand standardized management in the mean time. To solve these problems, expertsbelieve that the market should regulate the development of bank card acceptance, amore specialized acquirer’s management system, improve income distributionmechanism bank card.At present, Chinese bank card business is gradually changing from monopoly tomore and more opening, competition between the commercial banks and acquirers ofbank card payment is increasingly fierce. Many potential risks emerged along withprice war and weak regulating, therefore risk management has become to one areathat needs to pay more attention on in the acquiring business management. In thisthesis, firstly will analyze the mode of the acquiring business, researching how tomanage this business for participates, establish the corresponding administrationsystem; then compare the pro and cons of all of the business participants in thismarket, summarize the threats that they face and the policy impacts, and analyze bothcustomer side and business side by two mathematical models, draw to abrief conclusion. At the end, take China UMS Tianjin Branch Co., Ltd as an example,research its pro and cons, potential opportunities and risks via SWOT method, andthen approach a proper business strategy for the future. I hope through this thesis’study can provide a reference for competitive strategy for UMS Tianjin Branch Co.,Ltd.
