| Trade finance carries the characteristic of low risk captital occupation and high revenues. Thus, banks all over the world is actively engaged in competition in field of trade finance. The thesis focuses on the study of the competition and innovation of banks in field of trade finance under the background of application of Basel Protocol Three as well as globalization of RMB and marketization of interest rate. It aims at giving some enlightment on the development of trade finance of SRCB. At the beginning of trade finance business as a regional small and medium-sized bank, SRCB shows a high speed of development but a low profitability phenomenon. The thesis analyzes the strengh lying in the development of trade finance of SRCB, and points out the disadvantages as well. The reason behind those problems contains four aspects. One is the leaders’neglence of trade finance. Two is lack of measure in marketing and customer development. Three is lack of ability in product and service innovation. Four is lack of risk management system. At last, the thesis proposes five strategies for a small and medium-sized bank in its beginning of trade finance development:team building, marketing, customer expanding, service development and risk prevetion and controlling. The advance of this thesis is that it studies the development of trade finance from the perspective of a small and medium-sized bank with rural credit cooperative background, and it is a combination of fact and theory as for the related strategies and suggestions.With the change of domestic and international market and the foundation of Shanghai Free Trade Zone, banks faces business transformation. SRCB is expected to grasp the opportunity to enlarge the innovation in field of trade finance, in order to maximize the non-asset business and financing revenues, to prevent and control financial risks. Only then, it can promote its actual ability and opitimize its own value. |
