The Effect Of Background Characteristics Of Top Management Team On Corporate Reputation

Shanxi province is a country comprehensive reform experimental zone, under the impact of economic restructuring and economic globalization. An enterprise which wants to remain invincible in the competition, you must improve the competitiveness of enterprises through continuous innovation. Corporate reputation as an intangible asset, has a crucial role in improving the competitiveness of enterprises. The previous study on corporate reputation mostly based on product quality and service, ignoring the right strategic decisions and the TMT background characteristics.Because strategic decisions and choice of TMT is not easy to measure, we choose background of the TMT as a proxy variable and it is easy to measure. This article is based on a theoretical background to study the relations between corporate reputation and TMT background characteristics. It draws a conclusion that it is very important for enterprise to select the appropriate business managers.Part of this article summarize the relevant literature about top echelons theory and corporate reputation, and define the scope of the TMT and corporate reputation measurement tools. Select the 32 listed companies in Shanxi Province as data samples, and explore the relationship between the TMT and corporate reputation background characteristics. By summarying literature at home and abroad,we draw our own hypotheses and build models. Using SPSS 17.0 to analysis corporate reputation reliability and validity and using statistical software Eviews7.0 descriptive analysis of the sample and regression analysis, we follow the main conclusions:one, private enterprises, women pay more attention to corporate reputation management. Two, with the rise in the age of corporate management, the level of corporate reputation declined, indicating that the younger managers pay more attention to maintain the reputation of the enterprise. Three, In terms of education level, the higher the education level of management, the higher corporate reputation. Four, In a professional respect, economic and management major managers pay more attention to the reputation of the enterprise, on the contrary, engineering major managers is poor. Five,The higher social relations is, the higher the level of corporate reputation gets. Six, In the state-owned enterprises, the longer the term of office, the lower the level of corporate reputation, private enterprises is opposite.Finally, we made a research summary and came up with the recommendations about listed companies under the current economic restructuring, pointing out the limitations of the article and research prospects.
