With the rapid and steady development of China national economy, continuous improvement of living standard of the people, the construction industry continuously shows a development trend with high speed. Meanwhile with the further implementation of market economical mechanism, the regional trade barriers are increasingly weakened, more and more foreign traders capitals came into China and the economical globalization is preliminarily formed which provides a broad stage and fine external environment for China’s construction enterprises to contract overseas projects, at the same time, the rapid stepping-in of foreign construction enterprises will also strengthen the internal competition of construction industry. How to face the current keen competition, to utilize and broaden self-advantages, to face challenges and find new living and developing spaces has been vital problems concerning the vitality and fate of China’ construction enterprises.The formulation and implementation of enterprise competitive strategy is of great importance for construction enterprises to improve core competition. A good competition strategy will lead right directions for enterprises development and avoid strategically mistakes of pursuit short-term profits.This article brings out a summarize of relative theories, draws the Porter’ competitive strategy theory through the development course and introduction and comparison of main views of competitive theories, and elaborate the reasonability of this theory in detail; this article chooses a typical construction enterprise, DR company as an object of study, and analyze from current situations, company culture and the current strategy, and points out the actual problems which prohibits the development of this company. In order to provide reliable basis for enterprises to draw out competitive strategy, this article brings out analysis for macro-circumstances of construction industry and the current situations and trends of this industry in China, and provide analysis for the industry circumstances with Mike Porter’s model theory, analyzing the current opportunities, weakness, strength and threat of DR company integrating with the SWOT method, thereafter, choosing the low cost strategy under goal focusing as the basic competitive strategy for DR company and bringing out detailed steps for the effective implementation of this strategy.The competitive strategy for DR company drawn out in this article is of important reference significance for construction enterprises to improve comprehensive competition strength and make a living in the keen market competition.
