China and India usually have been more attention on the development of agriculture. This is not only because China and India have a big amount of agricultural productions, but also because agricultural development for China and India is consistent with their own factor endowment advantage.With the development of bilateral economies,industrial level and service industry level of Chinese and India, the supply ability that only relies on the domestic supply has not fully meet the needs of the domestic market in agricultural products in the number and types. Therefore,the development of the trade of agricultural products for China and India,the two large agriculture countries,is particularly necessary and conforms to the reality.Although China and India had trade in agricultural products in the past, interference by geographical location, trade barriers related to the trade of agricultural products and other factors always restrict the development of the trade.These factors in varying degrees made the agricultural products trade costs increase between China and India.Therefore, the development of agricultural products trade between China and India is restrained to some extent and the potential of agricultural products trade between each other is need to be tapped.Due to historical reasons, China and India on a bilateral free trade agreement are not reached a consensus, which to some extent hindered the facilitation process of agricultural trade between China and India.After entering twenty-first Century, multilateral trade agreements negotiation like the WTO is blocked,so people begin to pay more attention to regional economic and trade agreements and expect to be able to promote the development of regional economy.The negotiations of regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement which take the ASEAN as the core are in the positive progress.The agreement will have a great role in promoting the trade in agricultural products between China and India.Therefore, China and India should actively promote the approval of the agreement.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction of this article.The background and significance of thesis research is introduced in the introduction part firstly.Then, the research of the scholars at home and abroad related to the paper are analyzed.Then, the rest of this part give the research ideas and methods, innovations and shortcomings.The second part focuses on the analysis of the origin and development of the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement.Then,the history and characteristics of the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement negotiations have a detailed analysis of the descriptive.At the same time, this part gives Chinese attitudes to this agreement.The third part firstly has a overall analysis to the development situation of agricultural products to China and India.This part is an overview of the import and export situation of agricultural production to China and India from 2003 to 2013.Then,this part analyzes the situations of agricultural products trade between China and India in the region involved regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement. And Agricultural products trade amount between Chinese and India are on the rise.Then,however, the potential of trade in India is larger than the potential trade in China.The fourth part is the focus of this paper.This part uses trade gravity model analyzing the third part conclusion and the potential of agricultural products trade between China and India in the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement.The empirical results show that, China and India in the regional comprehensive economic partnership agreement framework have the potential to develop the agricultural product trade.Moreover, India has a larger potential in agricultural trade than China.The fifth part is the last part of this paper.This part is to give some policy recommendations to promote the further development of agricultural trade between China and India,which is mainly according to the preceding analysis and combined with the empirical results.
