Research On Economic Efficiency Of The Coal-electricity Vertical Related Markets In China

The electricity industry is a major buyer of the coal industry, but the supply of coal for electricity generation and the contradiction between the coal industry and the electricity industry caused by coal prices, directly impact on the health and sustainable development of the coal industry and the national economy. Studying on the coal- electricity vertical market, using the data envelopment analysis, assessing of the economic efficiency of its industrial chain, can find out factors that impact on the economic efficiency of the coal-electricity industry chain, then put forward relevant policy recommendations to promote the coordinated development of coal-electricity industry chain.The paper firstly combs out the literatures, reviews and comments the current study, to find out the study perspective about the evaluation of the economic efficiency of the coal-electricity industry chain, then elaborates the current relative theory, and puts forward the connotation of the coal-electricity industry chain. The paper has three main contents: first, use the industrial relevance theory and the inputoutput analysis, analysis of the degree of association of the coal-electricity chain. It is concluded that there is between a high degree of association the coal industry and the electricity industry and the former associate degree of the coal industry to related the electricity industry is greater than the backward associate degree of the electricity industry to the coal industry; second, use the data envelopment analysis to assess of the economic efficiency of the coal-electricity industrial chain, and it is concluded that the coal-electricity industrial chain has high economic efficiency, and is basically close to optimal efficiency, personal 、 capital and resources are the major cause resulting in the invalid efficiency of the coal- electricity industry chain; three, put up the relevant policy recommendations to promote the coordinated development of coalelectricity industry chain.
