Analysis Based On Super Efficiency DEA Model Of Shanxi Province Efficiency

With the rapid development of economy and technology in China, each province accelerates their pace of development. The annual ranking of GDP is an indispensable index for each province. As a significant province in central China, the GDP ranking of Shanxi Province has maintained at approximate 20th in recent decades. With a series of related policies which are put forwarded in succession by national and provincial government, the economy and development of Shanxi Province has attracted an increasingly amount of attention in recent years.Based on resource superiority, Shanxi Province has formed a unique but relatively one-fold development pattern. In order to realize leaping-over development, it is imperative to invest massive funds and operate large amounts of equipment. However, after the investment of capital and operation of facilities, the efficiency will play a vital role in enhancing the developmental speed of economic transformation in Shanxi Province. Based on the importance of the efficiency for economic development, this article is based on the mainline from macro to micro, we will study the efficiency of macro industry at first. Then, the efficiency of micro enterprise will be covered with. Finally, we will delve into the conclusions and suggestions through comprehensive analysis. The research ideas and methods of this paper are as follows:Firstly, through selecting the related indicators and data (between 2003 and 2012) of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries in Shanxi Province, regarding the amount of energy input, number of industry employees and investment in fixed assets as input indicators, choosing industrial total output value (GDP) as output indicator. This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of efficiency of three industries in Shanxi Province by utilizing super-efficiency DEA model, and obtains the efficiency of three industries and the redundancy number of indicators, and we will also make a brief analysis.Then, this paper chooses enterprises which are based on resource superiority in Shanxi Province (between 2001 and 2013) as research target, and we also selects the main index of report forms according to characteristics of these enterprises as follows:the input index includes operating costs, net value of fixed assets and the quantity of human resources. The output index mainly includes operating income. We also make an analysis of enterprises’ efficiency by utilizing super-efficiency DEA model. We obtain the enterprises’ operation efficiency and the redundancy number of indicators, a brief analysis will be covered with.Finally, we further summarize the whole paper based on the empirical results, and we will propose countermeasures on how to improve the operational efficiency for the industries and enterprises. Meanwhile, in order to do a deep thoughts and provide references for subsequent research direction, we will point out the limitations of this research at the end of the paper.
