Middle managers of enterprises not only link top managers and grass-roots, but also play an important role in the development of the enterprise.The knowledge and experience of middle managers is impetus behind enterprise sustainable development, which is profound for enterprise’s operation.This paper summarized middle managers’ competency characteristics by using literature method, interview method and expert evaluation method of Zhangjiakou Mobile Company. Through questionnaire survey on middle managers in mobile company, this paper summarized employee competency factors and found that individual characteristics, knowledge, and business management and so on a number of factors constituted the middle managers competency characteristic model.At the same time when analyzing population statistics in Zhangjiakou Mobile Company, we also found that there are large differences between its competency characteristics; Such as gender has little influence on middle managers’ work, but age have significant effect; Working seniority stand out in aspects of authorization and strategic decision differences, especially the staff above 8 working years scored higher in the model evaluation of middle managers, which is far higher than low working-age population; There is a big difference between high degree and low degree in the middle managers in aspects of learning and system construction.Based on the research of middle managers competency problem in Zhangjiakou Mobile Company,we can better understand the role of middle managers.This paper help enterprises select talents and improve enterprise’s development potential, therefore has profound significance to the development of Zhangjiakou Mobile Company.
