Finance is the core of the economy, and the banking sector is the core in China’s financial system. However, due to its financial features and operating characteristics, the banking sector have many potential risks. At present, China’s economic growth continues to decline, affected by a marked increase in operating pressure banking profit growth is slowing down, banks’ asset quality decline. According to the statics released by the China Banking Regulatory Commission, the bank’s non-performing loan growth rate hit a new high in recent years. Although the banking sector since 2014 started to increase the intensity of write-off and disposal of non-performing loans, non-performing loans of any course but there are different degrees of growth, and the bank’s overdue loans also grew at the same time. If the future of non-performing loans and past due loans continue to expand, banks the asset risk will become apparent.This paper studies the causes and preventive measures of the risk of mortgage loans of commercial banks. First, the basic theory elaborated risk characteristics of the mortgage loans and mortgage loans.
