Along with the rapid development of global market and the unceasing changing demands for customized needs, and the conversions of previous single order and mass consumption to small amounts and diversity, thus the characters of commodity provision turn to multispecies and small batches.For the large-scale production enterprises, their products are multi species and multi series. In addition, most enterprises have warehouse space resources for more than one product, under such circumstances, most companies arrange their storage according to series and models of commodity. With further demand analysis, an order can contains different kinds of goods, making the deficiencies of order response speed and distribution efficiency more obvious to managers when dealing with requirements changes in traditional distribution centers. As is well-known, the construction of sorting area in large DC and the distribution of storage location are two crucial factors in large DC planning system, which are research presuppositions of improving service efficiency and competitiveness in DC. Thus, they are also of significant theoretic and practical value.Firstly, this paper carried on simple elaboration to the development of modern logistics and review to the related models and documents about traditional sorting area spatial layout planning, operational cost management, product sorting system and replenishment operation.Secondly, in order to maximize operational efficiency and to save costs, this work established a multi sorting area cost-saving model, which back grounded by the construction of large DC, combined with the challenges large DC current faced and practical factors of distribution efficiency and distribution costs in DC. Besides, this work elaborated the features of the established model to come up with Genetic algorithm to solve this complex model using detailed algorithmic procedures. After the comparison and analysis with accurate algorithm---Simplex Algorithm, the effectiveness and accuracy of the designed model has been tested. By sensitivity analysis of algorithmic process, the effects caused by the changing of different parameters have been found. At last the combined parameters which lead to satisfactory results have been found.Finally, as distribution cost of an order is closely related to storage block assignment, based on multi sorting area FRP cost-saving model, this paper further established two-stage storage block assignment model in sorting area based on correlated cluster to solve the storage block assignment optimization problems of inner products in multi sorting area. By using MATLAB, genetic algorithm was designed to deal with two-stage model and the two algorithms was validated in examples and sensitivity. To make this work clear in structure and regulation, similar to algorithmic program analysis of FRP model in multi sorting area, this paper compare two-stage algorithm with accurate algorithm---Simplex Algorithm and then analyze the effectiveness and accuracy of the designed model. By sensitivity analysis of algorithmic process, the effects caused by the changing of different parameters have been found. At last the combined parameters which lead to satisfactory results have been found.This paper carried on a simple summary and conclusion about the core content of the whole article at the end of this work, and came up with possible direction for further research.
