With the rapid development of economic globalization, the auto industry has played a key role in the Chinese economic growth, which acts as pillar industry in the national economy. But the development of auto parts industry seriously lags behind that of vehicle industry. The key technology of core components is mastered by foreign manufacturers. Most domestic parts enterprises lack independent core technology and brand, stuck in labor-intensive products of high resource consumption and low profit margins. The development of vehicle industry has been restricted by weak parts technology. Facing market competition and global challenges, how to promote core parts technology breakthrough and upgrades through the powerful vehicle R&D and capacity has important practical significance and theoretical value for the development of Chinese auto industry.This article analyzes possible symbiotic mode and symbiotic equilibrium of the parts industry and the whole industrial from the points of industrial symbiosis. On the basis of domestic and foreign literature about industrial symbiosis, the technology upgrading mechanism of components is discussed originally from the perspective of industrial symbiosis. This paper first analyzes the vehicle and parts industry symbiotic mode; then, drawing lessons from the Logistic model and Lorka-Volterra态equation on the-competition, we made an expansion and deduced the theory model explaining how the vehicle driving parts technology upgrading based on the theory of industrial symbiosis.As for the empirical test, this paper carried out regression analysis with dynamic panel data regression method and the step difference GMM method to solve the related problem between explained variables and the disturbance. Statistical data from year 2000 to 2012 are selected from Chinese automotive industry yearbook, among which automobile and motorcycle two industries present the vehicle industry, and the car engine, motorcycle engine, auto parts and motorcycle parts four industries stand for parts industry. From the overall sample results, it is showed that the increase of the vehicle industry market power is not helpful for the product quality upgrading of parts industry. However, increase of enterprises expenditure on R&D and the number of technical staff in upstream components enterprise can effectively improve the quality of components products.
