Research On The Effects Of Government Support On The Enterprise Investment To The Environment Protection

Since enterprises production process has directly impacted on ecological environment, the enterprises capture more attention to fulfill their responsibility of protecting environment. The environment with the attribute of public goods and externality determines the imbalance between enterprise investment and outcome. The enterprises cannot reap social benefits alone, which drains them of initiatives in the environmental protection. The government expects to steer enterprises to pay their attentions to the environmental protection. The most common macro-control method is government support. The thesis mainly researches whether this encouraging policy is effective and promotes the enterprise investment to the environmental protection.Considering that resource-based enterprises not only have great impact on the environment but also play an actively role in environmental activity, this thesis takes the listed companies from 2008 to 2013 as research samples, studies the effects of government support on enterprises investment by getting into the effectiveness of government support policy, and then considers the effects of government support on the environmental protection investment among different actual controllers sample as well as effects on various types of environmental protection investment.The research found that the more support the enterprises get, the more investment they will increase in the environmental protection and pollution management, even later investments; In terms of actual controllers’nature, government support provides a better implementation result in state-owned enterprises, which can promote them to carry out duties of environmental protection. However, the effects may be small in private enterprises. Further, this thesis analyses the findings that government support had a significant effect on environmental protection investment associated with expense, while had an unnoticeable effect associated with assets. According to the analyses above, this thesis proposes a series of suggestions that the government ought to increase the environmental protection support for spurring enterprises to attach importance to environment protection, value its particular effects, and establish a complete evaluation; the accounting rules should specify environment information disclosure; the enterprise should step up efforts to protect environment.
