The establishment of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area has promoted the friendship and economic cooperation of both sides,making ASEAN becomes one of the largest vegetable trade export market in China.During 1998 to 2013,Chinese vegetable trade for ASEAN increased and the market share in ASEAN has continued to expand.And exceed the traditional vegetable export countries the United States, the Netherlands and Australia, among the ASEAN vegetable export market first.It’s both development and challenges for the development of Chinese vegetable export trade. Therefore, study of vegetable export growth mode and influencing factors from China to ASEAN is of great importance.The purpose of this paper is to analysis situation of Chinese vegetable exports to ASEAN and study vegetable export growth model since the cooperation of China and ASEAN.Then discusses the strength of international competitiveness of Chinese vegetable exports to ASEAN and comparative advantage.And try to find out China’s competitive advantage and competitive disadvantage Compared with other vegetable export powerhouse.According to the analysis, put forward to policies and suggestions for China’s vegetable export to ASEAN.First,this article analyzes the situation of Chinese vegetable export and study the changes of vegetable export scale and export structure from China to ASEAN since the cooperation of China and ASEAN. And expound vegetable export growth of China in 1998 to 2013 using kernel density method.Secondly, the vegetable export growth of China to ASEAN can be decomposed into scope, quantity and price using ternary marginal model. And compare with other vegetable export countries to sum up the unique vegetables export growth model of China to ASEAN. Then using constant market share model(CMS) analysis main influence factors of the growth pattern-export competitiveness, and calculate the competitiveness of different vegetable varieties in China by the explicit comparative advantage index.Based on the above analysis of the competitiveness, and find out the competitive advantage of China’s vegetable export and competitive disadvantage. Finally put forward policy suggestions according to the results of the empirical analysis.Through the system research, the paper get the following basic conclusions: First, China’s vegetable exports to ASEAN has increased since the friendly cooperation between China and ASEAN.To 2013, China accounts for more than 70% of ASEAN’s vegetable market,and nuclear density analysis shows that the growth is the result of exports growth.Second,the model of China’s vegetables export growth to ASESN is growth of number, and secondly price growth through the model of the ternary marginal analysis.And this does not have extensive growth mode.It’s also apply to the different types of vegetable export.The title of exporters base on the exports of a large number of Fresh frozen vegetables and dried vegetables.As the increasing of the processed vegetables exports made up the vacancy of the deep processing of vegetable market.Third, through the CMS model research, promoting the growth model of factors is that China’s growing vegetables export competitiveness.And the contribution of the competitiveness of fresh frozen vegetables for export growth gradually weakened.Besides the contributions of dried vegetables and regulate processed vegetables continuously improve.This suggests that China’s vegetable exports is transforming into diversified vegetable varieties and the vegetable export model is gradually from the primary processing vegetables to the deep processing vegetable.Fourth, China’s export competitiveness advantage lies in natural resources, geographical location, the cost of production and regional economic cooperation of China-ASEAN free trade area.The competitive disadvantage is that the high labor costs compared with developing countries and the backward of deep processing technology compared with the developed countries.Both of which lead to higher vegetable export price and unstable market compared with its competitors.According to the research conclusion, we should do the following: First of all,expand the scale of export of ASEAN and adjust the export structure.Second, improve the international competitiveness of vegetable export and labor productivity.Improve the agricultural science and technology level and increase the mechanized production of vegetable and the export of standardization.Then, the government should offer favorable conditions of vegetable production and export and realize the transition from extensive production to intensive production gradually.Finally, make full use of China-ASEAN free trade area and create a better external environment.
