Commercial banks as one of the main modern financial system part are the connection of the national economy "bridge". With the full liberalization of China’s financial market, the new regulatory standards have been put forward, Chinese commercial banks will face serious challenges at home and abroad. In the modern theory of capital structure, optimize the capital structure has a very important impact on improving business performance. To survive and develop in the market, Chinese commercial banks must improve business performance, enhance core competitiveness.In this paper, normative analysis and empirical analysis method are used, combining with the status quo of China’s listed commercial banks for analysis. The problem of capital structure of our banks are lacking of capacity within the source, ownership concentration is too high, a single subsidiary capital structure and so on. The analysis on the operating performance was mainly from commercial banks profitability, liquidity, security. By comparing the indicator data,we found that our China’s bank are mainly rely on interest margin to gain profitability.The active management of liquidity risk is not enough. While in terms of asset quality and safety of international banks, there is a big gap.In the empirical part,the writer used multiple linear regression analysis. The test results showed that the commercial banking subsidiary capital ratio, listed shares outstanding,CAR and operating performance are related.The last part of article is to put suggestions. Commercial banks should be diversified shareholding structure, improving the ratio of supplementary capital, strengthen the supervision of the capital adequacy ratio, and actively improve the external operating environment of banks.
