In recent years, facing a variable internal and external market environment, commercial banks in China are all accelerating the pace of sub-branch transition with the means of operating management reform, sub-branch hardware rebuilding and procedure reconstruction. From 2006, ABC has thus raised the goal for making Agricultural Bank of China as the top retail bank in China, which would be realized by accelerating the transition of all sub-branches.Agricultural Bank of China Suzhou Branch possesses the dual character of operating and management, which is now in the period of operating transition and located in the developed and fiercely competitive Yangtze River Delta zone. In spite of the comprehensive competitive advantage, ABC Suzhou branch is now facing increasingly more pressure. How to tackle with the problem of sub-branch transition would be significant toward the long-term development of ABC Suzhou and provide relative reference for the growth of commercial banks in China.This essay adopts the analysis method of theory linked practical condition. Based on the fundamental theory research of sub-branch transition of banks and transition mode of international banking industry, this essay deeply discusses the motive and urgency of sub-branch transition and analyzes the implemented jobs concerning transition closely connected with ABC Suzhou Branch practice. Then, it raises point of view that it must carry out the second transition in sub-branches. According to the entirely design, it proposes eight implementation plans using empirical analysis as follows: 1, optimize the layout and classified methods of sub-branch; 2, optimize the functional section and job guide plans; 3, optimize the electric channel construction; 4, optimize operating efficiency methods; 5, optimize the marketing service procedure; 6, optimize the method of staff training and motivation; 7, optimize the performance appraisal methods; 8, optimize the culture construction. It also refines the implementation steps and advance measures and formulates the strategic execution and relative measures. Finally, it utilizes tables to carry the mentioned measures forward and illustrates the feasibility and operability of sub-branch transition strategy.
