Since the reform and opening up, China has never stopped the effort in enhancing the opening up, in broadening the scale of market, accelerating the transformation and upgrading of economy and realizing the development of great leap forward. Currently, as the pattern of economic development has been spread from the coastal areas to inland, As an inland province in Northwest of China’s Ningxia. In recent years, the state has to give policy support in the new round of western development policy implementation process, the State Council approved the establishment of inland Ningxia open economy pilot area in Ningxia have the opportunity to make full use of their advantages, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign improve openness and expand market size in the region to achieve economic growth.Therefore, it is of great value both theoretically and pragmatically to study the relation between the extent of opening-up, the scale of regional market and economic development on the basis of the practice of Ningxia.The dissertation studies the relations between the extent of opening-up, the scale of regional market and economic development according to relevant indicators and data from 2000-2013. It starts with the background and significance of the topic and the chief research methods. It summarizes the related research results in this field at home and abroad as a foundation and guideline for the research. What follows is a description on the current situation of the extent of opening-up, the scale of regional market and economic development of Ningxia with the statistics and the practice of economy in Ningxia. Then, according to the economic structure and features, the dissertation selects indicators that have influence on the extent of opening-up and the scale of regional market and builds a general opening-up indicator via factor analysis. On the basis of the research, it adopts stationary test, co-integration analysis, error correction model and causality test on data with econometric models to explain the calculated relation of the extent of opening-up, the scale of regional market and economic development of Ningxia. In the end, the dissertation offers policy advices to optimize the extent; of opening-up, broaden the scale of regional market and improve economic development.
