Through technical innovation to promote national development has become a basic consensus of all countries. With the development of economic globalization, the open innovation environment provides a new model for the enterprise. The group not only need to rely on their own resources, but also actively explore external technical knowledge, and improve innovation performance.Existing research mainly discuss internal and external R&D activities explore the influence of innovation performance from the static signal point, but little to explore the internal and external R&D activities of the interaction effects on industry innovation performance from the perspective of industry characteristics. In addition, the innovation is a dynamic process, internal and external R&D activities on the innovation performance of the study of the dynamic effect are relatively rare. This research attempts to discuss the influence of internal and external R&D activities on the innovation performance from the perspective of industry characteristics and dynamic, To compensate for the lack of existing research. In this paper, the main research contents and achievements as follows.The first chapter is the introduction, mainly expounds the research’s background and significance. The second chapter is the literature review, from the three angles of effect or internal R&D activities, external research activities and their interactions on the innovation performance, providing the basis for forming the idea of writing this article, and points out the shortcomings of the existing literature.The empirical analysis of this paper mainly includes the third, fourth or fifth chapters, starting from the internal R&D activities, the external R&D activities and the interaction relationship between internal R&D activities and external R&D activities,using panel data and the impulse response function of two kinds of mathematical models of multi angle discussion internal R&D activities, external R&D activities on industry innovation performance.The third chapter mainly discusses the relationship between the internal R&D activities and industry innovation performance. Panel data model found a significant positive correlation between internal R&D expenditure and the innovation performance. For technology-intensive industry, due to the shortage of the management mechanism, R&D researcher input and innovation performance have a weak negative correlation; Through impulse response function model analysis, the study found that, R&D spending and R&D researcher input have continued positive effect on innovation performance from the dynamics of the long-term trend.The forth chapter mainly discusses the relationship between the external R&D activities and industry innovation performance. Through the panel data model analysis, the study found that expenditure for acquisition of foreign technology and innovation performance is significant positive correlation for the all of industry. For technology-intensive industry, External R&D expenditures and the expenditure for purchase of domestic technology have no significant correlation with the innovation performance. For unskilled labor-intensive industry, due to the domestic technology level is relatively low and enterprise absorbing ability is insufficient, the expenditure for purchase of domestic technology and the innovation performance is significantly negative correlation, No significant correlation was found between the external R&D expenditures and innovation performance. Through impulse response function model analysis, the study found that the expenditure for external R&D, expenditure for acquisition of foreign technology and the expenditure for purchase of domestic technology have continued negative effects on innovation performance.The fifth chapter mainly discusses the interaction effect of the internal and external R&D activity influence on innovation performance stage. Through the panel data model analysis, the study confirms that the effect of interaction between internal R&D expenditure and the expenditure for acquisition of foreign technology, between internal R&D expenditure and external R&D expenditure, have no significant correlation with innovation performance. It has a significant positive correlation between the effect of interaction between expenditure for acquisition of foreign technology and internal R&D expenditure and the innovation performance. There is no significant correlation between R&D researcher input and external R&D expenditures, expenditure for acquisition of foreign technology and interaction between domestic purchase of technology and innovation performance. For unskilled labor-intensive industry, due to a lack of internal R&D ability, the interaction of internal R&D expenditures and the external R&D expenditures between the expenditure for acquisition of foreign technology on innovation performance is negatively correlated and the interaction between domestic technology purchase on innovation performance have no significant correlation; The interaction of R& D researcher and external R & D expenditures between the expenditure for acquisition of foreign technology. Through impulse response function model analysis, in the innovation system of the internal and external R&D activities, the interaction between the expenditure for the internal R&D and the expenditure for the external R&D has a short-term substitution effect; the interaction between expenditure for the internal R&D and the expenditure for purchase of domestic technology, the interaction between R&D researcher input and expenditure for the external R&D investment have a continuous complementary effect. The interaction between R&D researcher input and expenditure for acquisition of foreign technology has a short-term complementary effect and a long-term substitution effect.The sixth chapter discuss research results and prospects. Based on the conclusion of the empirical analysis, the paper give relevant suggestions to enterprises and government proposed, and points out the future research directions. |
