Appliance industry has been one of the pillar industries in Hefei since the reform and opening up, since the 1990 s, the home appliance industry repeatedly Hefei brilliant, with many well-known brands such as independent Rongshida, Meiling etc, Haier, Gree, Changhong and other domestic brands enterprises have settled in Hefei, Hefei has currently become one of the nation’s largest home appliance industry base, and Qingdao, Shunde par, but also domestic appliance brand the most concentrated areas. With the growing globalization of, and openness since the deepening of China’s accession to WTO, the challenges facing the industry in Hefei appliances also growing. How while maintaining their own advantages, continue to make up for deficiencies in all aspects, and strive to build perfect Hefei appliance industry ecosystem, strengthen industrial competitiveness, is pressing issues currently facing the industry in Hefei appliances.In this paper, the competitiveness of the domestic appliance industry in Hefei for the study, first introduced on industrial competitiveness at home and abroad theoretical research and development process, which focuses on the country’s competitiveness theory of Michael Porter in the 1990 s raised, discusses the industrial competitiveness related concepts and specific research methods course with the status quo and make the domestic appliance industry generally introduced. From a combination of qualitative and quantitative way to start, according to the theoretical analysis of national competitiveness proposed by Michael Porter- "Diamond Model" from the factors of production, market demand, related support industries, corporate strategy structure and competitors, government several elements and opportunities for all aspects of one’s home appliance industry in Hefei analysis and evaluation. According to the "diamond model" theory, selected 11 representative household appliances industry indicator variables, the choice of the sample, according to the domestic appliance market share of production to determine the 11 home appliance industry is more developed urban indicator data collection, and according to the actual Variable data collection, empirical analysis. During the analysis, the use of cluster analysis and principal component analysis method combined with each other, mutual validation. Hefei appliance industry competitive with other 10 cities between the home appliance industry comparative analysis, based on comparative analysis of results obtained in Hefei appliances strengths and weaknesses on industrial competitiveness.From the comparison with other cities of Hefei appliance industry analysis, we can draw between Hefei appliance industry to develop a more balanced, from production factors, market demand, related industry support, corporate strategy and structure, and competitors or opportunity in all aspects of government to that are ranking, especially in personnel training and technology development is in the lead. You can say that the national home appliance industry base, known to its name. At the same time, we also see Hefei appliance industry itself still has some shortcomings, such as lack of infrastructure, scale industry weaker and Shunde city, the recognition of Shunde, Qingdao and other cities home appliance industry competitive advantages, we reason to believe that with the continuous development of the home appliance industry in Hefei, will overcome their own shortcomings, continue to strengthen the short board, in competition with other appliances in the city will not only strengthen and consolidate Hefei appliance industry leading position and more Hefei able to build an international home appliance industry center.
