China and Russia are not only coexist, having a long border, but also are the largest countries in the world. With the deepening of relations between the two countries, the prospects for trade and economic cooperation between them are becoming wider.Currently, Sino-Russian relations are at their best in history, it is the good-neighborly friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation. To continue to deepen the friendship between the two parties in the political, economic, cultural and other areas for the development of bilateral relations and make greater contribution to the development process should be reviewed bilateral relations between China and Russia, as well as discuss their problems.In the early1990s, China and Russia attach great importance to the mutual trade and economic exchanges, expanding the number of border crossings, the promotion and protection of trade and investment, as well as creating a favorable international environment for trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, to promote it as mu healthy development of Sino-Russian trade and economic cooperation. In the2000s, a rapid development of Sino-Russian trade. Throughout the development of trade and economic cooperation between China and Russia for nearly three centuries, we can see the rise and fall of bilateral foreign trade turnover. Strategic partnership between the two countries with the prosperity of trade exchanges became more stable. After the international financial crisis of2008, more frequent meetings of senior management of China and Russia, aimed at promoting and strengthening mutual friendship and economic and trade cooperation between the two neighbors. Thanks to the joint efforts of both sides, bilateral economic and trade cooperation recovered since the crisis, both China and Russia are major trading partners face each other.In22of August2012year Russia officially became the156th member of the WTO. Chinese and Russian economists and businessmen expect that Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) will give a strong impetus for the development of trade and investment cooperation between China and Russia. After accession the WTO Russian market will become more open. Analysts believe that WTO’s membership means building in Russia more favorable climate towards foreign investment, which will increase in turn the opportunities for the growth of Chinese investment. However, there are new challenges such as product competitiveness of Chinese enterprises will undergo tests.In this paper, the author analyzes how the history of the development of trade and economic relations between Russia and China as well as new opportunities and challenges that await them after Russia’s WTO accession. The last chapter of this work is also devoted to the prospects of trade and economic relations between Russia and China, Russia strategic choice.
