Security world stage, China’s security industry started relatively late, and appeared some professional security companies at the beginning of the80’s, Security industry had initially formed In the late90’s. From2000to now, it has gone through a period of high-speed development. About2012, the emergence of the concept of smart city, opened the space for the further development of the security business. Smart city related industries construction is difficulty. The supporting laws and regulations, construction mode, evaluation mechanism is not perfect, All of which lead the coping strategy of security business related Smart city is insufficient, Their market positioning is not clear. Dahua Company, after10years of rapid development, has become the leader of security industry, but on the new opportunities of Smart city construction, it also faced the problem of lacking corporate strategy for smart city.This paper based on the early stage of Smart city construction background, through the study of the enterprise development strategy of Dahua Company, draw the conclusion of turning to be a Smart city system solution provider, but not a simple security products provider. At the same time, It analyses the resource that Smart city wanted to get the conclusion that it has fully conditions of transformation.This paper first describes the Smart city, security and their relationship, and then, the paper focuses on the analysis of Smart city’s opportunities and influence bring to the security industry market, discuss the competitiveness of Smart city system solution provider. The middle part of the article, it quantify the Dahua Company with it’s main competitors to find out it’s key problem, which can reveal necessity of transformation. The purpose of analyzing the DaHua resource is to identify the possibility of transformation. Finally, thesis threw a few suggestions on how to successfully transition.
