With the continuous development of China’s automobile industry,4S shop integrating four functions of sale, spare part, service and survey as one has become the main way of automobile distribution. A larger sales volume of4S shop means a stronger competitiveness of the automotive brand. However, the achievement of sales of4S shops needs the coordination and cooperation throughout the whole automotive supply chain, while the inventory control is an important issue of supply chain management, which plays a very important role in building the automotive brand’s competitive advantage. In addition, the third-party automotive logistics has been emerging, and more and more third-party automotive logistics companies have begun to participate in the distribution of automobiles. To become the first choice of customers, third-party automotive logistics companies are now no longer just playing the role of the third profit source, but becoming an effective carrier of customers’fourth profit source by improving the entire automotive supply chain’s operational efficiency and helping customers to achieve their own benefits. Thus, for third-party logistics companies, how to build the inventory control mode is of great significance to enhance their own competitiveness as well as achieve customers’ benefits. The market demand of automobile is affected by many aspects, both of aspects such as macro-politics as well as macro-economy and aspects such as micro-consumer preference. Thus, the occurrence of demand fluctuation is frequent, and it is very difficult to predict accurately. Worse still, combined with the high unit value of cars, such poor inventory control mode based on prediction results in "the coexistence of high inventory and high out-of-stock" phenomenon, making all supply chain parties miserable. Further, taking into account the carmakers’behavior of pushing inventory to4S shops in order to "reduce their own risk", the operation of the whole automotive supply chain becomes unhealthier. Therefore, third-party automotive logistics enterprises must break the existing mode and build a scientific inventory control mode based on the car’s own characteristics. In the third-party automotive logistics enterprises’ perspective and based on TOC theory, this article discusses the current problems automobile distribution systems are facing, and finds where the source of these problems lies-the inventory push mode which is led by car manufacturers. And on the basis of that, this article analyzes the core conflict of both distribution chain key members and the whole distribution system. Then, through conflict breakthrough, this article finds a more scientific inventory control mode-MTA inventory control mode-to establish two baffer stocks, determine target inventory buffer stock levels according to stock formula, place orders regularly, carry out the pulling replenishment and implement the dynamic buffer management.By abstracting the original inventory push mode and the MTA inventory control mode based on TOC, this article constructs two corresponding inventory control models and further simulates these two models through simulation methods. Using the demand satisfaction quantity, the out-of-stock quantity, the inventory quantity, the total inventory cost, the inventory turns, the cumulative IDD and other indicators, this article tries to verify the effectiveness of the proposed MTA vehicle inventory control mode.
