The Cause Analysis And Countermeasures Of Sino-American Service Trade Deficit

Nowadays, the development of service trade has promoted the world’s economicdevelopment, and the proportion of China’s service trade is larger and larger. However,China’s service trade has been in a deficit state and has become the world’s first service tradedeficit country by the end of2013. Although China’s service trade scale increases year by year,the service trade deficit also become more and more serious, that will make our recourse loseand foreign debt increase, thus seriously affect China’s economic in the long run. Amongwhich the Sino-American service trade deficit accounted for the largest proportion, so it isnecessary to deeply analyze the deficit causes of the Sino-American service trade deficit.Through the analysis of the causes of the Sino-American service trade deficit, on one hand itcan put forward targeted recommendations to reduce the service trade deficit, on the otherhand it can provide theoretical foundation to better analyze and solve the problem of China’sservice trade deficit. The primary purpose of this study is to alleviate and even narrow theSino-American service trade deficit, to promote the development of China’s service trade,finally realize the coordinated and stable development of trade in goods and services.The theoretical basis of this dissertation are the comparative advantage theory, thecompetitive advantage theory and the trade gravity model, mainly to analyze the primarycauses of Sino-American service trade deficit, and then advance some reasonable suggestionsto solve the problem of the Sino-American service trade deficit.This dissertation is divided into six parts. The first part is the introduction part, mainlyintroduced the selected topic background, research significance, research purpose, researchmethods, research contents, related literature reviews, innovation and deficiencies. Thesecond part is the related concepts and theoretical supports, mainly including the concept ofservice trade, the comparative advantage theory, competitive advantage theory, and theGravity Model. The third part mainly introduced the Sino-American service trade deficit. Thefourth part is mainly qualitative analysis of the causes of the Sino-American service tradedeficit. The fifth part is mainly empirical analysis the causes of the Sino-American service trade deficit. The sixth part mainly aimed at proposed targeted reasonable suggestions basedon the front analysis.The results abtained by using the Gravity Model are: the increase of China’s GDP has apositive effect on the export of Sino-American service trade, the increase of America’s GDPhas a positive effect on the import of Sino-American service trade, and the latter influence isbigger than the former; the share increase of China’s tertiary industry added value in GDP hasa positive effect on the export of Sino-American service trade, the share increase ofAmerican’s tertiary industry added value in GDP has a positive effect on the import ofSino-American service trade, and the latter influence is bigger than the former;the increase ofChinese Internet penetration rate has a positive effect on the export of Sino-American servicetrade, the increase of American’s Internet penetration rate has a positive effect on the importof Sino-American service trade, and the latter influence is bigger than the former; the exportof Sino-American trade in goods has obvious promoting effect on the export ofSino-American service trade, the import of Sino-American trade in goods has obviouspromoting effect on the import of Sino-American service trade, and the latter effect is largerthan the former..Through qualitative analysis and the empirical analysis concludes: unreasonableindustrial structure, unreasonable service trade structure, the leading role of goods trade is notgood, information and communication technology protect function is weak, lacking ofhigh-quality talent in service industry and the U.S. legal restrictions on foreign enterprises arethe important causes of the Sino-American service trade deficit; to optimize industrialstructure,to encourage the development of emerging service trade, trade in goods play a vitalleading role, to strengthen the training of specialists in the field of service industry and todevelop the service of information and communication are the countermeasures to ease theSino-American service trade deficit.
