Research On The Impacts Of The Small And Medium-Sized Airports On The Regional Economy

Transportation development is always prior to economic development. More airports will be built and most of them are small and medium-sized airports. However, according to the statistical analysis of the civil aviation administration, very few of the small and medium-sized airports can profit. In2013, China has156small and medium-sized airports, accounting for80.83%of the total airports, only11.70%of the total passenger throughput,4.54%of the total cargo throughput. Since it is difficult to profit and has little passenger and cargo throughput, why our country support the building of small and medium-sized airports, the paper analyzes the reason.First of all, according to the small and medium-sized airports subsidy policy of the civil aviation administration define small and medium-sized airports, then analyze its properties. Reference to domestic and foreign literature about the regional economic growth, analyze the influencing factors of regional economic growth; Reference to domestic and foreign literature on the impacts of airport on the regional economy, study the contents and methods of their research. Then, research the mechanisms of the impacts of small and medium-sized airports on regional economy and industries that are affected by small and medium-sized airports from construction to operation, such as construction industry, air transportation, general aviation, tourism, logistics and other aspects of dominant influence, as well as the pollution, the city’s image, ideology, culture and other aspects of the recessive effect. According to each industry of the time that is affected, find the mechanism of superposition effect on regional economy. The impacts of small and medium-sized airport on the regional economy will be specific to all kinds of industry.According to the scale of the airport passenger throughput level, phase selection of Yantai airport, Yichang airport and Yibin airport empirical study, analyzing the correlation and synergy of the small and medium-sized airports with the regional economy. Then use the Cobb-Douglas production function to calculate the impacts of airports on regional economic growth, results show that three airports have high correlation and synergy with regional economy. They play a significant role in promoting the regional economy.Finally, analyze the loss reason of small and medium-sized airports, according to the reason make the basic idea for improving the profitability of small and medium-sized airports and put forward the countermeasure to promote their synergetic development, so that the small and medium-sized airports enlarge its direct and indirect impacts on the regional economy.
