Research On The Development And Comparison Of The Economic Theory Of New Imperialism

With the rapid development of globalization and the increasing gap between the south and north hemisphere since1990s, the monopoly capitalists began to manipulate the globalization, and they made the most of financial monopoly and capital outflow and other ways to squeeze money from the rest of the world. The New Imperialism explored the essence and behaviors of the contemporary Imperialism. By previewing the developing path and main ideas of the New Imperialism, we can have a more clear view of the characters of our times and the essence of the capitalist economy, and we can enrich and develop the imperialism theory of Marxism.This thesis studies the New Imperialism. Firstly, the thesis attempts to analyze the theoretical and real background of New Imperialism, and summarizes the course of New Imperialism. Secondly, after analyzing the main representatives of economic thought of New Imperialism, this thesis compares their similarities and differences in theory. Thirdly, the thesis tries to analyze the relationship of the New Imperialism and Classical Imperialism by means of different backgrounds, approaches and emphasis. Finally, this paper analyzes the historical role and limitations of the economic theory of New Imperialism, and points out some implications for developing countries.
