Study On Development Strategies For Plum Industrialization Of Yongtai County

Yongtai County, known as "The Town of Plum" reputation, has a long history of planting plum, which is a pillar of the traditional agriculture and special industry of Yongtai County. The research has a great significance to further promote the sustainable development of plum industry in Yongtai and boost the reasonable adjusting of the agricultural structure, so as to develop the comparative advantage industries and increase farmers’ income as well as raise the agricultural efficiency and rural development.Begun with the analysis of the current plum industrialization situation of Yongtai county, the study summarizes and analyzes the achievements and problems of plum industry by using statistical analysis, quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis and comparative analysis, as well as finds out the internal and external factors of further development of plum industry with the SWOT analysis including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, on which to put forward the ideas and strategies to further promote the plum industrialization of Yongtai County.The main conclusions of this study are on the following three points:①The plum industry of Yongtai has been enlarging on planting scale which ranks the top place in the whole country, and achieved the rapid success on processing and sales diversification, also the brand building are continuously expanding and the business model are diversified, but meanwhile there are some problems existing such as the connection in the integration of planting, processing and sales is not smooth enough, the driving force of leading enterprises is not strong enough and the labor is lack.②Yongtai has a lot of advantages for the further development of plum industrialization such as the superior natural environment, good geographical location, transportation, technology and branding, meanwhile, there are new opportunities caused by the rapid development of tourism in Yongtai, the active cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan, the open international market and the policy supports from government. But there are also some weak points, for example, the specialization degree is required to be increased, the sound industry service system is badly needed and the species structure needs to be more irrational as well as some risks such as natural risk, market risk, the competitions within the industry and from other fruits business.③The following are the countermeasures for Yongtai plum industrial development:to strengthen the operating management and improve the level of industrial specialization, to innovate the cooperation model and promote the integrated development of industry, to foster the leading enterprises and drive the industrial development, to strengthen the cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan and deepen the industrial development, to develop the tourism and extend the industrial development, to perfect the service system and protect the industrial development as well as to strengthen the brand building and maintenance and promote the industrial development.
