In the process of product design and production, Quality Function Deployment (QFD),as a tool to analyze customers’ needs and technical characteristics, and provide the directionof product quality improvement and optimization, is widely used in enterprise qualitymanagement. But its core tools-house of quality source data-the information of customer’sdemand and technical characteristics’ competitiveness requires the customers’ questionnairesin the acquisition process. The customers’ questionnaire is a way of customer evaluation madeby the scoring, where there is certain subjectivity and uncertainty. At the same time, asresearchers use different methods and approaches in the process of carrying out dataprocessing, there are also certain subjectivity and one-sidedness of treatment, which greatlyreduces the accuracy of the analysis, the sequence of the technical characteristics, and thefinding of the key technical characteristics. The Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is onlyto identify the issue, and it doesn’t give a solution to the problem.In this paper, gray correlation is used to calculate the importance degree of customers’needs, establish a correlation mateix of requirements and technical characterristic anddetermine the relevance between customers’ needs and technical characteristics. Theapplication of gray relational analysis eliminates the subjectivity and uncertainty of theoriginal data, and enhances the scientific of the results. Meanwhile, using FMEA to analyzpotential failure modes and causes of failure provides preventive recommmendations for thedesignment phase. This way can avoid the defects and loss of quality in the processing andmanufacturing process of products. By using FMEA, this paper amends the importance oftechnical characteristics and establishes House of Quality (HOQ) programming model, whichis based on gray sysem theory and FMEA to find problems to be solved. At the end,establishing the integrated model of QFD and FMEA could determine the technicalcharacteristics which need to be improved and decide the nature of conflict. Buildingtechnical contradiction matrix or separating physical contradictions can screen TRIZ pinciplesand achieve effective docking between QFD and TRIZ to find the ideal solutions.Research results of the paper:(1) Using gray relational analysis and FMEA to build the model of HOQ can eliminatethe subjectivity and uncertainty of survey data, and avoid quality costs and loss of qualitydefects in the the process of implementing engineering measures. This method solves thequelity controling problems in the process of survey, designment and production to achieveproduct optimization.(2) Combining QFD and TRIZ to sum up the process of "QFD finding the problem" and"TRIZ solving the problem", and building the integreted model of QFD and TRIZ todetermine the importance and solving order of technical characteristics.(3) Applying HOQ model to the optimization analysis of a company’s automotive airbag generator, using TRIZ methods to resolve conflicts generated during the optimization analysisto optimize the designment, and providing the direction for solving the failure of nut buckingand weld.
