With the continuous deepening of economic integration and trade globalization,International (regional) economic relation intensity increasing,the international tradehas become an important force in promoting world economic growth and development,so the variable factors affecting international trade has become one of the hot issue ofacademic research. In this context, influence from the interpretation of culture、geography and institution of multiple factors such as Chinese import and export trade isvery important. This paper first describes the content and its related theories of culturaldistance,geographical distance and institutional distance for laying the theoreticalfoundation for this paper analysis. Secondly, this paper constructs the influence Chineseimport and export trade evaluation system from the three aspects of culture、geographyand institution. Thirdly,this paper using the import and export trade data of China andother sample32countries or regions from2002to2011,empirically tests the impact ofculture、geography and three distance on China import and export trade. Finally,according to the empirical results presented in this paper, summarize and put forward toimprove the structure of foreign trade and promote the China relevant policyrecommendations to Chinese import and export trade development.The study suggested that:(1) the cultural, geographical and institutional distanceall hampers the development of multinational trade of China, and the cultural distancehas the biggest influence while the other two are relatively small.(2) by comparison,imports of China are more highly influenced by geographical distance while the exportsare more susceptible to the cultural distance, and influence of institutional distance onChinese import and export trade is relatively weak.(3)The cultural and institutionaldistance between china and other countries or regions varies with time and they havesignificant differences except the geographical distance is fixed.
